David Christie’s Music Recorded By Other Artists

imageHere are more of David Christie’s compositions that were recorded/covered by four top artists below – I hope you enjoy listening to these great songs as much as I do!

Spinners – One Man Wonderful Band (1979)

What a great cool song sung by the American R&B/Soul group The Spinners! By the way, David Christie must have been a big fan of Stevie Wonder because “One Man Wonderful Band” was written by David and dedicated to Stevie on his 1976 album “Love Is The Most Important Thing” (great album, check it out!). The Spinners covered the song on their 1979 album “From Here To Eternally”.

Phyllis Nelson – Heartbeat To Heartbeat (1984)

Many fans will recognise this great track from David Christie’s 1982 album, “Back In Control”, but also, the late great R&B soul singer Phyllis Nelson (1950 – 1998) covered “Heartbeat To Heartbeat on her best-selling debut album “Move Closer” in 1984. Phyllis recorded two more of David’s songs, “Stop” , and “But Then Came You”, check them out on her greatest hits albums!

Tina Charles – Love Me Like A Lover (1976)

I love this funky version of “Love Me Like A Lover” from Tina Charles as well as David’s original version (in Bolden’s Medley, 76). Tina’s version was released as a single from her album titled “I Love To Love” in 1976. The single did well in many countries including Germany #13, Netherlands #24, UK #31; and the highest chart position was in Norway at #8.
